Featured Volunteer
Vi Tran is the enthusiastic trolley guide for Hello Art’s First Friday trolley tours.
Vi strongly believes in the role that art and culture has in making Kansas City a great place to live. His passion for the arts is infectious and we're thrilled to have him as part of the Hello Art experience.
A talented actor and singer-songwriter, Vi brings to Hello Art the same meticulous work ethic and energy that he demonstrates in his acting, songwriting, and teaching. Each month, you can find him setting up for an event or scouting a trolley tour location. He takes the time to meet with featured artists and gallery owners to provide guests with information about each trolley stop.
Vi has performed on the stages of Starlight Theatre, Coterie Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, and more. As a musician, he collaborates with many local favorites including Barclay Martin Ensemble, Alacartoona, and Mark Lowrey. Goodbye, Summer, his debut record of original songs, was selected for the “Best of 2010 So Far” lists for both KCUR and KKFI radio stations.
Vi earned his MA in Theatre Directing and BA in Theatre/English, both from Kansas State University, before moving to Kansas City. He serves as a facilitator for Artist, INC, a professional development seminar for local artists, and for Coterie Theatre's "Reaching the Write Minds" playwriting-in-the-schools program.
